The UK sportsbook has announced that it will start taking wagers at Downtown Grand Casino in Las Vegas during the Oakland eSports event. Punters will have the opportunity to select any of the 6 teams competing during the tournament. Wagers will also be accepted during the 2 League of Legends quarter finals.
Nevada Gaming Board Approves eSports Wagers
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has given the go signal for William Hill to accept wagers. The NGCB has approved and signed the agreement with William Hill in accordance with the Gaming Policy Committee. The committee has decided to give eSports betting the green light as well. Regulators have said that it doesn’t need a new legislation but necessary regulatory revisions were required.
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval has said that the William Hill eSports betting initiative is a major step in ensuring that the state will be the eSports capital of the world. Mr.Sandoval has complimented the Gaming Policy Committee and the Downtown Grand Casino for its collaborative efforts to bring eSports betting to Las Vegas.
